STARS and CROSS

Kindly informed that starting this week, grade 7 and 8 students' acts and behavior will be observed as the teachers' effort to improve and maintain the students' action, behavior, and attitude. The reason behind this activity is that they will have their EXCURSION (for grade 7) and LIVE IN (for grade 8) and, of course, for their personal development. Since they are the school's (and Indonesia's) representatives during the programs, they should be able to keep their good action, behavior, and attitudes. In order to maintain those aspects, the teachers decided to reward their good deeds and warn their bad ones using STAR and CROSS signs.
The student who gets more cross than the star will not be able to join the programs as the consequences. Yet, if they show and prove good improvement on their actions, behaviors, and attitudes, they can join the programs.
For long term goal, we hope that the students will always do good action, behavior, and attitudes without considering their collection of STARS and CROSS, but for the shake of their own development. We hope that parents can help us guide our children's learning process as well.

Don't Be Late, Please...!

Today, I have to send one of my students home because she has been late for more than 4 times. It has been stated in School Regulation that if the students are late for more than 3 times, they should go home and reflect their lateness and are expected that they wont be late again.

So, please mind your time to go to school. We all know that in some hours we always have a heavy traffic. Do not expect that there will be government aids to solve the traffic problem but please mind your time to avoid the heavy traffic hours. Something can always go wrong, guys! Always have plan B already in your mind or have a positive solution for every problem you face. 

Once more, don't be late, please. Respecting time will worth your life.

Galasin, a simple traditional game

Playing a traditional game is one way to respect culture. In Budaya Sunda lesson we learnt to play this game. It is one of traditional Sundanese game. It's similar to Javanese's Gobag Sodor.

It's 2013! It's new year! It means that we start our school, too. Firrst of all, I would like to say Happy New Year 2013. We hope the very best this year.
We enter to the second semester of academic year 2012-2013. We'll have another 4-5 months to pass. Passing means achieving something from our learning. Everybody has his or her own resolution, I do have it, especially for my work. I'm going to be an this-time person. It means that I do not want to wait for tomorrow for the work I can do now. That's my main resolution. I'll try to make this blog up to date, so it can serve its very function, our communication media!

Excursion to POCARI SWEAT and YAKULT

Pada hari Senin 19 November 2012 yang akan datang, siswa-siswi Grade 7 dan 8 Sekolah Pilar Indonesia akan melakukan kunjungan ke pabrik Pocari Sweat dan Yakult. Selain untuk memperkenalkan siswa pada situasi kerja di sebuah pabrik, tujuan kegiatan ini juga berkaitan dengan pembelajaran Math dan Science, juga berhubungan dengan beberapa mata pelajaran yang lain. 

Pembelajaran secara langsung dengan melakukan observasi secara mendetail tentang bagaimana sebuah produk minuman kesehatan dibuat akan memberikan pengetahuan yang sangat berguna bagi para siswa. Mereka dapat melihat secara langsung bagaimana produk itu diproduksi, mulai dari pengolahan bahan baku, proses pembuatan, pengemasan, dan juga bagaimana produk tersebut didistribusikan dan dipasarkan. Semoga pengalaman yang akan siswa-siswi alami pada hari Senin nanti dapat menambah pengetahuan mereka bahwa semua produk yang dihasilkan pasti melalui berbagai macam proses yang tidak mudah dan kadang bisa dikatakan rumit, sehingga mereka pun dapat berefleksi bahwa jika mereka ingin menjadi apa yang mereka cita-citakan kelak, mereka tahu bahwa proses yang dilalui akan tidak mudah dan berliku.
